Rhumb Logbook
The sailing logbook that writes itself. Leave harbour and it notices. Every passage is logged with its sea miles, night hours and days on board, and the totals add up for your certificate.
Nothing to start, nothing to stop
The logbook wakes when you leave the berth, follows the passage, and closes it about an hour after you tie up. Open the app later and the passage is waiting. Keep it, or decline it.
Measured by sea
Distance sailed along the sea route of your track, with the shortest navigable route next to it. Night hours under way from sunset to sunrise at your position. Days on board, overnight passages, and hours under way for the schemes that count hours. The start and end are named from a built-in list of harbours and towns, or from your own saved places.
One sheet to keep it
The track already knows the figures. The Keep sheet asks only what it cannot tell: your role on board, the boat, tidal or non-tidal waters, and the hours you were on watch at night.
Totals for your certificate
Sea miles, miles in tidal waters, days on board, days as skipper, night hours and passages over 60 NM, laid out the way your scheme counts them. Layouts are included for RYA, IYT, ISSA, ASA, US Sailing, ICC, German and Polish certificates. Totals from a paper logbook can be added, so the record is complete from day one.
A logbook you can hand in
A PDF with one line per passage and a column for the skipper's signature. A CSV for a spreadsheet. GPX of every track, and GPX import from other navigation apps and plotters.
Works with no signal
The logbook tells water from land with its own sea map of the whole planet, downloaded once (539 MB). After that it works offshore with no connection at all.
Battery and privacy
In harbour the app waits for the phone's low-power location updates. GPS runs only while it checks for a passage or logs one. Your positions stay on your phone and in your own iCloud or Google backup. They are never sent to anyone. Read the privacy policy.
Free to record. The first three kept passages are free.
Logbook Unlimited keeps every passage after that. One-time purchase, no subscription.
Coming soon to the App Store and Google Play.
